In case you didn't know, the Trans Am organization has been wonderful enough to build an online racing series for its drivers until we're able to race again in real life - the Trans Am by Pirelli eSports Championship. We're currently on the weekend of round 3 at Daytona International Speedway, with some special guests including IndyCar driver Tony Kanaan! Catch the action at noon PST / 3pm EST at any of the links below!
https://www.twitch.tv/umggaming https://www.youtube.com/user/GoTransAm https://www.facebook.com/gotransam/ It's been a torturous off-season for any motorsports fan and racer. While health dangers and economic repercussions are looming over everyone. We've been quiet as the start to the 2020 Trans Am season has been in question over the last few months. Mostly because of whether our TA2 Camaro would be ready in time, thanks to a long list of a repairs but also due to a more exciting list of upgrades, thanks to our friends at Fuel Safe, KW Suspension, Red Line Oil, and Winmax USA, who are all lending to making our car more competitive this year. The second holdup to our 2020 season is the same thing that's pushing back every other event around the world: COVID-19. Our March season opener was postponed, then the followup race in April, and now we're crossing our fingers that it doesn't go any further back than Portland in July. But to the likes of Formula 1, NASCAR, IMSA, and IndyCar, Trans Am is implementing a solution.
The Parsons Racing team is excited to announce its newest partner, ZiZZO Folding Bicycles. The brand specializes in folding bikes that offer convenience and reliability in a product that rides like a full size bicycle. Even better, the bikes are offered at affordable prices with many different trims available. ZiZZO's involvement in this market is meant to integrate the cycling culture of Europe for a healthier lifestyle into mainstream American culture. This is accomplished by removing the hassles of hauling and storing large pieces of equipment, and packaging it into a bike that can fit inside the trunk of your car. The Parsons Racing team has already been using ZiZZO bikes during the 2019 season to get around the paddock, freeing up space in the race trailer due to their extremely compact size. Keep an eye out for Cameron and members of the Parsons Racing team on ZiZZO bikes in the paddock, check them out in person, and try riding one! Visit the ZiZZO website to learn more, and use the discount code "parsonsracing" to get 10% off your order! The Parsons Racing team kicked off 2019 with a rough start. A gearbox issue prevented driver Cameron Parsons from qualifying and taking the green flag at the Trans Am West Coast Championship season opener at Thunderhill Raceway. Then in round two at Auto Club Speedway, the team faced more woes with electrical problems that ultimately led to a failing alternator. After missing the qualifying session, Parsons would start the race from the very back of the field in 10th place. See the video below, produced by team sponsor QuickJack, to see behind the scenes of how the team managed to earn a podium finish for the weekend. You can learn more about QuickJack by visiting www.quickjack.com, and you can use coupon code "parsonsracing" to get $150 off any QuickJack model. The Parsons Racing team is proud to announce its newly-formed partnership with QuickJack for the team's debut season in the Trans Am West Coast Series presented by Pirelli. In the TA2 class, driver Cameron Parsons pilots the Parsons Racing Chevrolet Camaro, having already earned a podium finish in round two at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. With the first three out of six rounds for the season completed, the Parsons Racing team has already been putting the QuickJack to great use. From basic tire changes and maintenance to more intensive repairs like gearbox and alternator changes, the race car has spent a lot of time off the ground when in the paddock. The QuickJack ensures a safe and convenient method of raising a car to approximately 20 inches in under 30 seconds, secure enough to work around and underneath. See below to learn about the team's start to the racing season with QuickJack. This year, we're going bigger, faster, and louder. Cameron and the Parsons Racing team are thrilled to announce our entry into the 2019 Trans Am West Coast Championship. Cameron's start in racing was in go karts and eventually grew into racing open wheel formula cars in the Formula Car Challenge series, where he won two season points championships. While the Parsons Racing team continues to support drivers in the Formula Car Challenge series, Cameron will dive into a completely different machine for 2019 - the TA2-class Chevrolet Camaro.
The Trans Am series' TA2 class offers one of the most cost-effective ways to compete at the professional level. Even better, cars in this category churn out approximately 500 horsepower in a lightweight 2,800-pound platform made up of a tube frame chassis and fiberglass body. With the help of a four-speed, H-pattern gearbox, the formula for the Trans Am TA2 class makes for some of the most fun cars to drive and to watch go wheel to wheel. The team has already begun testing for the season, and is gearing up for the first race taking place at Thunderhill Raceway Park on April 12-14. Toward the end of 2018, Cameron had the opportunity to become a guest on the SlipAngle podcast, hosted by Austin Cabot. They sat and talked about Cameron's experiences as a journalist with DSPORT Magazine, club racing and Formula Mazda, and a bit about his work with Toyo Tires. Click the link below to have a listen!
